EGO Pharmaceuticals managing director Alan Oppenheim was presented with the Victorian Exporter of the Year award by Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau in a ceremony at Government House last week.
The awards recognised the efforts of the state's lead exporters across twelve categories.
Ego, which increased export sales by 31% on the previous year exporting to 27 countries across the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe, took out the award ahead of more than 50 of the state's exporters from a range of sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, education, digital technology and health.
The company now goes into the 54th Australian Export Awards to be announced on 24 Nov.
The pharmaceutical sector was well represented at the awards, with Swisse Wellness also taking out the E-Commerce category in recognition of its strategy which has seen sales to China increase tenfold over the last two years - making the company the number one health brand on China's Albaba platform.
