THE first European clinical trial
involving human embryonic stem
cells has been given the go ahead,
at Moorfields Eye hospital in
London.
The trial will see 12 patients
suffering from the degenerative
eye disease, Stargardt’s macular
dystrophy, injected with retinal
pigment epithelial cells derived
