THE Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) has opened nominations for the 2017 PSA Excellence Awards, in the lead-up to the Society's flagship PSA17 conference next month.
Symbion is supporting the awards with categories including Pharmacist of the Year, Early Career Pharmacist of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The winners will receive a $9,000 educational grant from Symbion, with PSA national president Joe Demarte saying the longstanding awards program honoured innovative pharmacists who have achieved the highest standards of commitment and professionalism in pharmacy.
"The Excellence Awards highlight what is great about pharmacy and how pharmacists are striving to make the profession even greater," Demarte said.
Brett Barons, Symbion executive general manager of pharmacy, said the awards recognised individuals who have contributed above and beyond their roles to benefit the entire profession.
"Pharmacists at all levels of the profession and their career are inspired and motivated by the annual Excellence Awards, which ultimately ensures innovation and professionalism," Barons added.
The winners will be announced on Fri 28 Jul during PSA17, which is this year being hosted jointly with the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association in Sydney.
