FDA approves Sylvant

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Sylvant (siltuximab) to treat patients with multicentric Castleman’s disease. It was the first FDA approved treatment for patients with the disease and demonstrated its commitment to approving drugs for rare diseases, FDA Centre for Drug Evaluation and Research Office of Hematology and Oncology Products director Richard Pazdur said.
