FDA nods Promacta

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has extended the use of Promacta (eltrombopag) by Novartis to treat low blood platelet count in pediatric patients, aged one year and older, with a rare blood disorder called chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura.
