AUSTRALIAN pharmacist Tara Hehir (pictured) was last week elected to the executive committee of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Board of Pharmaceutical Practice.
A number of Aussies are on FIP's Social and Administrative Pharmacy Section (SAPS) that brings together members from diverse practice settings and backgrounds.
The current President is also Hehir, who was appointed last year (PD 16 Aug 2022), and took over from Aussie and immediate past President, Dr Timothy Chen.
Other Aust SAPS members are Dr Ramesh Walpola, Dr Kenji Fujita, Dr Jack Collins, and Peter Guthrey.
Further, FIP is calling for applications for the SAPS Research Award 2023 which is now open.
Applications can be submitted HERE by 01 May.
Those interested should note that projects need to be relevant to SAPS or to FIP more broadly.
SAPS has built up special expertise in pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research, research administration, quality assurance, pharmacoepidemiology, quality-of-life studies, epidemiology, patient satisfaction, professional society management, evaluation research, evidence-based practice, health planning, regulatory affairs and health policy investigations.
On offer by SAPS is a 1,500 (A$2,452) annual award to cover costs for the selected project.
Award winners must submit an invoice and paid receipt of expenses incurred to be reimbursed the research grant award.
