THE International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) has published a new global overview of sports pharmacy practice and education, in partnership with colleagues from the International Sports Pharmacists Network.
The report highlights how pharmacists have been using their knowledge and skills to act as key athlete support through pharmaceutical care, doping control and providing services at sporting events.
The report defines sports pharmacy as a speciality area, and outlines the knowledge and skills required to practise it.
FIP said the work of pharmacists had nurtured sports pharmacy into an expanding specialty, with major stakeholders acknowledging the profession's key role in clean sport initiatives - CLICK HERE to view the report.
