THE WA Government today announced that all Western Australians will be able to access a free influenza vaccine from their local pharmacist.
It's the first state jurisdiction to fund influenza jabs ahead of the 2023 flu season, with Pharmaceutical Society of Australia WA Branch President, Lusi Sheehan, urging the public to be vaccinated before winter.
Influenza vaccines will be available throughout May at participating pharmacies, GPs, Aboriginal Medical services and regional clinics.
WA Health Minister, Amber-Jade Sanderson, noted that young children in particular at risk, with a public health awareness campaign to also launch next week under the "Stay Well" banner to remind all Western Australians to keep up to date with their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
