The Generic Medicines Industry Association has applauded shadow health minister Peter Dutton for his commitment to the ongoing stability of the PBS and the listing process, following the National Press Club debate between Dutton and Plibersek earlier this week. Plibersek highlighted price cuts to 2500 medicines which have occurred under price disclosure, with GMiA ceo Kate Lynch saying that the regime “is reducing the price of medicines, and it is generic medicines that are driving savings to the PBS”.
