THE Royal Australian College of GPs has lodged an application with the TGA to let GPs prescribe isotretinoin for moderate-to-severe acne or treatment-resistant rosacea, Australian Doctor has reported.
Isotretinoin scripts are currently restricted to other specialists due to the drug's potentially severe side effects, including teratogenicity.
The application is expected to be discussed in Nov.
