GSK clocks hefty costs

GSK is unlikely to record any fourth quarter profit, following the disclosure that it will account for more than US$3.4 billion in legal costs. The costs have mounted in the wake of the recent Avandia controversy, as well as fines imposed by US regulators over sales practices.
