THE Therapeutic Goods
Administration has completed
changes to the ARTG entries of
medicines affected by the
deactivation of superseded herbal
ingredient names.
The move follows a move by the
TGA to correct the names of herbal
ingredients used in the formulations.
From now, any variation to a
formulation containing a
superseded ingredient name will
fail to validate in the Electronic
Listing Facility.
Superseded names will be
recorded in the ingredient code
tables as synonyms of the updated
names, and will no longer be able
to be used in an ARTG listing nor
should they be used on new
medicine labels.
Sponsors must update the labels
of any affected medicines at the
next run or by 30 May 2014.The above article was sent to subscribers in Pharmacy Daily's issue from 08 Jun 12 To see the full newsletter, see the embedded issue below or CLICK HERE to download Pharmacy Daily from 08 Jun 12
