LIES misinformation and fear that is peddled by the anti-vaccination movement are put to rest in a new resource made available from the Australian Academy of Science, titled The Science of Immunisation: Questions and Answers, providing "compelling evidence about the benefits of immunisation to the health of children and the community".
The publication was launched yesterday at Parliament House by Health Minister Sussan Ley, the president of the Australian Academy of Science Professor Andrew Holmes, AMA president Dr Michael Gannon and Nobel Prize winner Professor Peter Doherty.
Gannon said the booklet, a rework of the Academy's 2012 publication of the same name, was the perfect response to anti-vaccination lobbyists.
"Immunisation saves lives. That is an undeniable fact," Gannon said.
