Pharmacists' union group Professional Pharmacists of Australia urges employee pharmacists to familiarise themselves with the working conditions and wages set out in the Pharmacy Industry Award and the National Employment Standards especially for internships.
Reports of interns being told to work in an unpaid capacity just to "get a foothold" have prompted the union to highlight that the award covers minimum pay and employment conditions for all pharmacists, including interns.
