THE Therapeutic Goods Administration is canvassing options for the future regulation of 'low risk products' (other than herbal complementary medicines).
Items covered include sunscreens, ear candles, nappy rash cream, antiperspirants, hard surface disinfectants, tampons and menstrual cups.
Also included are "low risk registered non-prescription medicines" such as desensitising toothpastes, antiseptics for first aid treatment of minor abrasions, sore throat lozenges, mouthwashes and some acne treatments.
Submissions are sought by 12 May - for details see tga.gov.au.
