THE Veterans' Medicines Advice and Therapeutics Education Services project (Veterans' MATES) has released a new educational topic for patients and health professionals.
The new "Staying healthy at home" module features educational material on helping patients with cognitive impairments to function successfully at home.
Of the estimated 436,400 Australians living with dementia in 2018, 94% were aged over 65 years.
One in three of them live alone at home, while 40% live in regional, rural or remote communities where access to services is often limited.
The therapeutic brief provides information about Department of Veterans' Affairs-funded cognitive, dementia and memory assistive aids - see veteransmates.net.au.
