Medsafe statin review

NEW Zealand’s Medsafe regulatory authority has completed a review of statins impact upon the kidney. Early data indicated a signal for an association between statins and acute kidney injury without the more commonly known side effect of rhabdomyolysis. While increased risk of acute kidney injury might be linked to the use of high dose statins, Medsafe said that the overall benefit-risk balance of statins remained positive - CLICK HERE for details.
