NESTLÉ Group's nutrition division Nestl Health Science has announced the launch of ProNourish Natural Balance Fibre, describing the product as "Australia's only clinically tested fibre shown to help provide symptomatic relief for five symptoms of medically diagnosed irritable bowel syndrome".
"Studies have shown almost half of those suffering from medically diagnosed IBS experience alternating symptoms of diarrhoea and constipation, with around a quarter suffering from diarrhoea or constipation in isolation," the company said, adding that there are an estimated six million Australians suffering from digestive health issues.
The ProNourish range also includes a probiotic and an on-the-go nutritional snack formulated with fibre to support digestive health. Both products are Monash University low fodmap certified.
