New ACP president

HOSPITAL pharmacist, author
and academic, John Low has been
appointed as the new Australian
Pharmacy Council president.
Low comes to the role with a vast
wealth of experience, having
previously held positions as Federal
Treasurer and Federal President of
the Society of Hospital Pharmacists
of Australia, and was also Editor-in-
Chief of the Journal of Pharmacy
Practice and Research.
Low has also held positions as
Chairman of the Pharmacy Board
of Queensland and was also a
Professional Adviser (Pharmacy) to
the Office of the Health Practitioner
Registration Boards in Queensland.
Low has also held executive
positions with the Australian
Pharmacy Examining Council, the
Association of Pharmacy
Registering Authorities, and the
New Zealand and Australian
Pharmacy Schools Accreditation
Committee.
The official accreditation body for
pharmacy until 2013, the ACP has
also appointed John Jackson to the
role of Vice-President.
