WESTERN Australia's Curtin University is proceeding with the development of a new Midland Campus east of Perth, which will be a clinical base for medical students as well as for Curtin Allied Health Schools including nursing, physiotherapy and pharmacy.
University officials yesterday joined WA premier Colin Barnett and other dignitaries to sign off on stakeholder arrangements for the project which will commence construction next year and is expected to be operational in 2019.
Curtin is significantly boosting its focus on health with a new five year full-time undergraduate Bachelor of Medicines/Bachelor of Surgery which kicks off next year.
The university's School of Pharmacy currently offers the only undergraduate entry course in WA leading to registration
As well as a four year B.Pharm, Curtin offers a two year Graduate Entry Master of Pharmacy degree, with both courses accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council in 2013.
