New software for clinical pharmacists

A new software program called
Pillpedia will launch this month,
promising to “revolutionise” HMRs
and MMRs.
It’s been created by clinical
pharmacist Josh Al-Din, who said
“understanding the role and needs
of the pharmacists who conduct
Home Medicine Reviews has
allowed us to build software that
will meet their needs in a way
nothing currently available is able
to achieve”.
Pillpedia features a MIMS drug
interactions plug-in, which gives the
ability to cross-check drug to drug
and drug to allergy interactions.
“This is the first time our
database has been used in this
type of application,” said MIMS
spokesperson Dinah Graham, with
the software facilitating easier
health professional communication.
Pillpedia enables easy information
gathering from patients and a
range of customisable reports,
along with business management
features such as invoice generation
and auto-completion of Medicare
claims plus generation of GP
request referral letters.
