EFFECTIVE 01 Jul the National Immunisation Program (NIP) is being expanded by the Federal Government to include more catch-up vaccines for people, including immigrants, to protect them against vaccine preventable diseases.
The expansion aims to improve the quality of the community's herd immunity which is critical to protect those too young or too sick to be immunised with a focus on preventable diseases like measles, mumps, meningococcal, polio, whooping cough, chickenpox and Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
