No antibiotics for flu

NPS MedicineWise is reminding Australians that rest and treating symptoms is the best way to treat colds or the flu, rather than antibiotics. Antibiotics would not work to treat colds or flu, NPS Medicines Line manager Sarah Spagnardi said, since these were caused by a viral infection and antibiotics only worked for bacterial infections.
