Brisbane announced as host city for FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Pharmacy leaders from across the globe are set to gather in Queensland in 2021 for the International Pharmaceutical Federation Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The announcement follows a successful bid by a consortium comprising the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA), the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) and the Australasian Pharmaceutical Science Association (APSA).
The consortium bid was also strongly supported by the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand and the New Zealand Hospital Pharmacists Association, as well as the FIP Western Pacific Pharmaceutical Forum.
The 2021 venue was just revealed in Glasgow, Scotland where the 78th FIP World Congress kicks off tomorrow.
SHPA ceo Kristin Michaels said the 2021 event in Brisbane would showcase Australia’s enthusiasm and capability to deliver an “outstanding and memorable international professional meeting”.
FIP has also just confirmed the election of Swiss pharmacist Dominique Jordan as its new president, taking over from Carmen Pena effective from 7th September 2018.
