Medicines Australia launches new Code of Conduct review.
Medicines Australia ceo Brendan Shaw is calling on all health professionals to make submissions to a new review of the association’s Code of Conduct.
The move follows the ACCC authorisation of the 17th edition of the code last Dec, in which it urged the industry to consider “further transparency measures about how companies interact with doctors, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals”.
A Transparency Model – Consultation and Discussion Paper has been developed for comment, with Medicines Australia also inviting a large number of health professional and consumer organisations to participate in the review by making submissions and attending consultation forums.
“But we also want to hear from people at the coal face,” Shaw said.
Submissions should be made by Friday 20 September 2013, with more information about the Code Review available at http://medicinesaustralia.
