Pfizer gm departs

JOHN Montgomery, the general manager of the Established Products unit for Pfizer in Australia and New Zealand, has left the company after just over two months in the role. Montgomery, formerly head of Alphapharm and Mylan, has been defending the controversial Pfizer Direct distribution model since his appointment. Yesterday a Pfizer spokesperson confirmed the departure. “Regrettably, John and Pfizer had different expectations about his role and the business,” she said. Pfizer said it would be announcing a replacement in due course. The company downplayed industry speculation which has emerged in recent days about another possible senior departure.
