AN American pharmacist who operated two pharmacies in Detroit has been sentenced to 52 months in prison for participating in a fraudulent prescription drug scam.
56-year-old Nadeem Iqbal admitted to illegally distributing more than 220,000 dosage units of controlled substances, as well as health care fraud and money laundering.
The scheme involved 44 defendants in total including six doctors and four other pharmacists.
