NSW Governor, Margaret Beasley, has honoured two pharmacists for their services to the profession and the broader community at an event in Sydney last month.
Former Pharmacy Guild of Australia NSW Branch President, Paul Sinclair, and respiratory disease advocate, Emil Dan, were inducted as Members of the Order of Australia at an event in Sydney, after being named on the Australia Day Honours List (PD 29 Jan).
Sinclair, who has served in a number of roles with professional groups and was also a member of the Campbelltown City Council from 1995 until 2004, received his award for his "significant service to pharmacy, to the community and local government".
Dan, the 2009 Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, was awarded the honour for his, "significant service to community health, to people with asthma and respiratory disease and to pharmacy".
