PSA hails CPE Expo success

THE Pharmaceutical Society of
Australia is thrilled with the
response to its inaugural CPE Expo,
confirming that the event attracted
more than 1,100 delegates and
exhibitors, including a large
contingent of more than 120
interstate delegates.
Held in Sydney over the weekend,
the event was developed by the
NSW Branch of PSA and was
designed to bring together
pharmacists, patient support
groups, patients, allied health
professionals and the
pharmaceutical industry, with the
aim of improving the nation’s
health “through excellence in the
practice of pharmacy”.
“The focus on medicines
information, patient support
programs, medication reviews and
disease state management was well
received,” said the PSA’s NSW
President, Prof Charlie Benrimoj.
Professor Benrimoj also said that
delegates responded very positively
to the new initiative of having
representatives from consumer and
patient support organisations
presenting at CPExpo.
“The need for inter-professional
communication and a focus on
patient-centred care is essential,”
he said.
“It was great to have Sally
Crossing AM from the Health
Consumers NSW present the
opening plenary and providing the
patients’ perspective of the
healthcare experience,” he added.
