SCOTLAND will introduce a five-year integrated pharmacy degree from 2020.
The government said the "consensus view" from an advisory group -- comprising of the two pharmacy schools, Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) and other stakeholders was to introduce a five-year degree instead of the current four-year degree and one-year pre-registration training.
In their report, the advisory group concluded a five year program would "better prepare" pharmacists for practice in Scotland.
