THE Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) yesterday updated its advice for the COVID-19 booster dose.
ATAGI has suggested that if it has been six months since receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, an additional dose is recommended for people aged 75 or older.
A booster should also be considered for people aged 65-74, following discussion with their healthcare provider, as being older continues to be the biggest risk factor for severe COVID-19 disease.
Aged care residents who have not yet received a booster dose this year are advised to do so.
ATAGI says to find a COVID-19 vaccine clinic, customers can speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
