Small business policy
August 22, 2013
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia
has warmly welcomed the
Coalition’s Small Business Policy
which, if implemented, will “make
a real difference for community
pharmacies struggling to survive
and employ staff.”
The Guild’s National President,
Kos Sclavos, said that the
commitments to reduce company
tax by 1.5% and to introduce a
paid parental leave scheme for
small business were particularly
welcome.
“The vast majority of the 55,000
pharmacist and pharmacy assistant
staff are women,” Sclavos said,
adding that the proposal means
pharmacists “will be relieved of
their responsibilities to administer
the Government’s superannuation
and paid parental leave schemes.”
