WESTERN Australian pharmacy owner, Brad Smithson, has been named the 2020 TerryWhite Chemmart (TWC) Rhonda White Leadership Award winner.
TWC CEO Duncan Phillips described Smithson as "an innovative operator" who has transformed his TWC Chester Pass, Albany, pharmacy with a state-of-th-art upgrade, while providing leadership and mentoring support to his business partners, Joe Foster and Kellie Powell.
"Brad is a man of action who is relentless in his pursuit of excellence while always maintaining a positive workplace culture", Phillips said.
"His focus on improving collaboration with other health professionals and mentorship to his fellow pharmacists as well as his genuine passion for broadening access to health services for his patients puts him at the forefront of his profession."
Accepting the honour at the group's final 2020 Lead Beyond Conference in Perth last night, Smithson said he was humbled by the recognition.
"The TWC network is made up of so many inspiring leaders such as my fellow nominees Karen Brown, Jeff Nelson and Irfan Hashmi and to be put in this league is itself humbling.
"Thank you to Duncan and the whole TWC network for this acknowledgement."
The group also announced the nominees for its 2021 Pharmacist of the Year Award at last night's event, with South Australians, Irfan Hashmi and Morag Horton, named alongside Queenslanders, Emma Conway and Blaine Woods, Tasmania's Kristina Fox, and Western Australian Deepinder Rosha, as contenders for the title.
The TWC Pharmacist of the Year winner will be named at the TWC's Masterclass event in Jun.
