THE University of Western Australia (UWA) is set to offer Australia's first Doctor of Pharmacy Practice, a pioneering one-year online program designed specifically for registered pharmacists seeking to enhance their qualifications and expand their scope of practice.
The program meets the requirements for using the title Doctor of Pharmacy (PD 20 Nov 2024) and can be completed entirely online, making it accessible to practicing pharmacists nationwide.
Senior lecturer at UWA's School of Allied Health and pharmacist, Dr Amy Page, said the program will "address a critical need in the pharmacy profession", providing a comprehensive pathway that incorporates numerous separate training pathways into one recognised qualification.
