A former pharmacist has copped it from The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal after finding he engaged in unprofessional conduct.
The move follows a referral by the Pharmacy Board of Australia over concerns about Robert Donald Louis’ practice between 2009 and 2011 when he worked part-time at the Nerang Day and Night Phamacy.
The Board alleged that Louis had engaged in professional misconduct by selling pseudoephedrine, “a drug which is well known to pharmacists for its potential for misuse and abuse”. |

Lovers of coffee and alcohol rejoice – one may offset the affects of the other.
According to a study from Britain’s Southampton University which assessed the date of nearly half a million people found participants who had one to two cups of coffee a day reduced their risk of cirrhosis by up to 43%.
And if you really love coffee, downing three to four cups each day cuts the risk up to 65%.
Coffee doesn’t just wake you up after a hangover (PD does not endorse giving yourself one of these) but it helps fight the damage alcohol can cause your liver – convenient. |

Sigma Pharmaceuticals has launched a new-look pharmacy at Amcal Stud Park with the help of Amcal Ambassador Georgie Parker.
The store is the first in a series of pilot stores which implements insights gained from an international study tour involving customers and suppliers which the company co-sponsored in 2013.
CEO and managing director Mark Hooper said the store identified more popular sales areas, such as beauty, vitamins and baby and featured a more efficient dispensary, with a “significant investment” made in a new robotic dispensary system.
The Stud Park store features a beauty and nail bar so customers can try before they buy, and the health range includes health foods in addition to normally stocked items. Pictured below are Georgie Parker (left) and Amcal Stud Park pharmacist Terry Murphy (right). |
