As a thank you to our members, we invite you to attend an inspirational presentation by acclaimed mountaineer, Michael Groom, OAM. Michael shares his stories and shows us how obstacles are no more than challenges and reinvigorates our beliefs in our dreams.
Australian Michael Groom is unquestionably one of the world’s greatest ‘big’ mountain climbers. Michael has climbed Makalu, Lhotse, Kangchenjunga, K2 and Everest – all without the assistance of bottled oxygen and all but once, he climbed without the front third of his feet. Suffering crippling frostbite from one of his descents in 1987, he had both feet partially amputated. Amazingly, he was advised to get a desk job and that his climbing days were over!
