Scientists from Ghent University
have been working hard
examining the excrement of giant
pandas, in an attempt to work out
how they are able to exist on a
diet of bamboo.
Although the endangered
creatures are similar to
carnivores, they almost exclusively
eat tough bamboo which does not
have much nutrient content.
There is a method to their
madness, with a potential
application of the research
being the development of new
