JUST a heads up that the advent of robotic compounding pharmacists may be closer than you think after an android started doing the job of a barista in Japan.
The mechanical coffee whiz who goes by the name Sawyer has been whipping up cappuccinos and macchiatos at the Henna Cafe in Tokyo - & not staying especially humble about his skills either.
Sawyer has been heard to declare "I can make one better than human beings around here".
Thankfully human baristas are still going to be needed for a while yet, after Sawyer melted down when he received a hipster's order for a half soy, half almond milk skinny latte with a twist of kale-infused chia seeds.
How does the ancient Chinese proverb go again? "What do McDonald's french fries and a bald man have in common? Answer - They can both benefit from the silicon compound dimethylpolysiloxane."
Now, we happily acknowledge this is the least catchy morsel of wisdom you're ever likely to absorb but it's true!
A stem cell research team from Yokohama National University have regrown hair on mice using the compound, the very same chemical used to stop the oil from fizzing when frying Macca's fries.
I guess the real elephant in the room is why so many mice were going bald in the first place?
