THE Pharmaceutical Society of Australia has been recognised as the country's national pharmacy peak body, with the Government yesterday confirming three years of funding under the Health Peak and Advisory Bodies Programme.
PSA National President Shane Jackson thanked the Government for its support, saying "we are exceptionally proud to represent pharmacists in all locations and sectors, including community, hospital and academia.
"PSA believes the expertise of pharmacists can be better utilised to address the healthcare needs of all Australians," Jackson said, adding there was no doubt healthcare could be improved by "optimising the role of pharmacists as health professionals and as leaders in Quality Use of Medicines".
