AROUND 60% more influenza vaccines have been delivered into the ACT community in 2018 vs the same period last year, the local government office has revealed.
ACT Health Public Health physician Dr Vanessa Johnston said the close to 90,000 influenza vaccines distributed to immunisation providers to date was a record and meant more people were being protected.
The biggest increase was in the young child cohort, aged six months to under five years, she said, creating a 35% vaccination coverage in this group to date in 2018, versus just 5% in 2017.
