MONASH Pharmacy PhD student Erica Tong has received another prestigious award, this time from the Australian Medical Association, following her award for the same study from the Medical Journal of Australia (MJA) (PD 28 May).
Tong's acclaimed research paper was based on a study conducted at Alfred Health on reducing medication errors in hospital discharge summaries, with the AMA awarding her the 2017 Sir Richard Stawell Memorial Prize.
Tong's research demonstrated that pharmacists completing medication management plans can decrease the rate of medication errors from 61.5% to 15%.
