GUILD Learning and Development is partnering with GSK to run an online course titled Asthma management and the role of the pharmacist in optimising patient outcomes.
The management of asthma is based on a stepwise approach, which takes into account a continuous cycle to assess, adjust treatment, and review response at different stages of the patient's asthma control.
The accredited course examines the stepwise approach and demonstrates how pharmacists can play an important role in supporting the approximate 11% of the population affected.
Pharmacists can play an vital role in optimising the management of asthma for patients through inhaler technique checks, assessing adherence and recognising where referral to the GP is appropriate.
