DOCTORS prescribing alternative therapies have been warned against initiating treatment without a "reasonable expectation" of clinical benefit, under new guidelines from the Medical Board of Australia, reports AusDoc.
The Board called for new rules to be in play for doctors who work "outside mainstream medicine" to "protect patients against financial exploitation and unnecessary treatment" and to avoid financial conflicts of interest.
