A CASE-STUDY of a triathlete who accidentally may have unearthed a causal relationship between a cold-water swim and remission of postoperative intercostal neuropathic pain exacerbated by movement, has been published in a BMJ Case Report.
Plausible mechanisms by which this could have been achieved were discussed by the authors who recommended further studies of the phenomenon, saying that with the poor response to traditional management, there is a need for novel, curative interventions - go to casereports.bmj.com.
