1ST August 2018 Price Changes: There are some significant PBS price changes this month that Guild members should ensure they are aware of.
Gilead brands of Hepatitis C medicines are experiencing very large price reductions.
Members should ensure all dispensary staff are aware of these price changes when ordering and dispensing Hepatitis C medicines during July and to appropriately manage stock on hand towards the end of the month in order to minimise any impact to the business or to patients.
As patient access to treatment must remain a priority during this period, Gilead is also implementing arrangements to avoid pharmacies and hospitals being caught out by the price reduction.
Information about these arrangements will be provided through wholesalers, but members should carefully manage their patients and stock holdings as 1 August approaches.
