THE Department of Health and Aged Care has advised of updates to the chapters on COVID and vaccination procedures in the Australian Immunisation Handbook.
The COVID updates include increased clarity of recommendations, a revised immunocompromising and medical conditions list to align with other chapters, and outdated products removed.
Guidance for preparing for vaccination, administration of vaccines and post-vaccination advice has also been updated.
This includes the screening checklist, dealing with vaccine administration errors and potential side effects and complications of vaccines.
