EXPLORING ways to create an inclusive and safe mental healthcare environment for the LGBTQ community is the focus of a new research project from Flinders University.
The research project has received more than $700,000 in funding from the Medical Research Future Fund, and is part of a larger funding package by the Australian Government of $26 million to improve treatment and care for LGBTQ people.
It is estimated that 5-16% of Aussies are LGBTQ , so potentially there are over 200,000 people in SA in need of care.
