PHARMACIS TS working at
Mildura Base Hospital in Victoria
have been told their positions
are being made redundant, with
the hospital pharmacy being
outsourced to another company
within the Ramsay corporation.
The 146-bed hospital was built
by Ramsay Health Care in a 2000
privatisation arrangement with the
Victorian govt, and a group called
Reclaim Mildura Base Hospital
(RMBH) is agitating for it to return
to public management.
According to RMBH, existing
hospital pharmacy staff at Mildura
are being required to reapply for
their positions in the new “privately
managed public hospital pharmacy
