THE National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association (NAPSA) has elected Jessica Hsiao as the organisation's 2018/19 president.
Hsiao is a fourth year pharmacy student at the University of South Australia, and will be joined on the NAPSA board by seven newly elected directors: Eliza Herd from the University of Newcastle as Secretary; Tina Blefari, University of South Australia as Treasurer; Teana Didsbury of QUT; Lily Pham from the University of Sydney; Stephanie Salvatore, RMIT; Joshua Hogben from the University of South Australia; and Alicia Martin from the University of Canberra.
The appointments were announced over the weekend at the NAPSA Annual Dinner which was a celebration of the organisation's 70th anniversary.
Guest speaker was Sydney pharmacist Catherine Bronger, who was inducted as an Honorary Life Member of NAPSA.
Bronger was NAPSA vice-president in 2004/05.
Other attendees included representatives from sponsors including the Pharmacy Guild and the PSA as well as Mylan, the Pharmacy Board of Australia, Fullife Foundation, Star Pharmacy Group and Raven's Recruitment.
The Best Branch award went to the South Australian Pharmacy Students' Association.
