ICONIC Australian-owned food
manufacturer Buderim Ginger has
announced its plans to move into
the pharmacy sector with the roll
out of four “functional food lines”.
Typically, functional foods are
categorised as foods that have
health benefits, and Buderim’s line
includes ‘Traveller’s Friend’, ‘Ginger
Honey & Lemon Chews’, ‘Ginger
Bears’ and ‘Naked Ginger’ products.
“The introduction of our
functional food range into
pharmacies follows on from our
recent launch of two ‘condition
specific’ complementary health
products targeting osteoarthritis,
joint and back pain, together with
an anti-nausea formula for
morning and motion sickness,”
said Paul Ritchie, General
Manager of Buderim Ginger.

nationally the new lines
complement Buderim’s partnership
with the University of Sydney,
which involves a current three year
study has seen the
commencement of a three year
study into the efficacy of ginger’s
components against a variety of
ailments.
“The studies underway are
yielding some very promising
results and we’re confident that
the findings together with a raft of
other studies underway around the
world, will further validate the
importance of ginger and its role
in preventative health,” Ritchie
added.
